It's that time of year once again -- MLA Rachel Notley is hosting
Art from the Unknown this weekend, and my friends from the L'Arche Edmonton Day Program have been busily preparing paintings and other art, jewelry and cards to show and share with the public. There are many other artists who will be present, too, so if you're looking for a gift for a friend, you might just find one. The event starts this evening with a reception including refreshments and live music, and runs until Sunday afternoon. Art lovers who like to support emerging artists will find it an event worth attending -- there's some pretty amazing work displayed every year. Maybe I'll see you there!
Art from the Unknown will be hosted at the Old Strathcona Centre for the Performing Arts / Cosmopolitan Music Society, located at 8426 Gateway Boulevard. The event will run during the following times:
October 18, 2013 – 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM - Opening Night Reception with Live Music
October 19, 2013 – 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM - General Gallery
October 20, 2013 – 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM - General Gallery
