What to say? What to do?

I'm at a loss today. A far away friend of mine has suffered an injustice, one of many straws that's on the verge of breaking the camel's back. She's been let down many times, and I feel powerless to help. My old standby question of what would Jesus do doesn't even have an answer. She's so far away that I can't reach her, and inviting her to come live here won't solve the basic issues with which she's struggling because Alberta is more expensive, not less. She's losing her faith in herself, her pride, her sense of self-worth. I don't know what to say or how to help.

All I know is that I love my friend, and she deserves better than this.

Any suggestions?

Oh no :( You must feel so helpless. All you can do, it seems is be present for her. Support her and listen, which I'm sure is something you're already doing. It hurts when we can't get in there and make things better for our loved ones.

Pray for her. Turn her sorrows and your concern for her over to God. Say a rosary every day for her and her intentions.

Thanks, all, for your kind comments. Being helpless in the face of suffering is never a good time. You're right, though... all I can really do (besides storming heaven, which is second nature to me) is be a good listener, and for the moment, that seems to be enough... I hope.
